Well, the 2^nd annual LCpl. Alan D. Lam PFT Challenge was a GREAT success!    It was held on Saturday, 20-March-2010 on the first perfect Saturday of the year.  The temperature reached 72+ degrees for the day with a comfortable breeze to keep the competitors and spectators cool during the day.

 

There were a total of five competitors this year ranging from 36 to 70 years old.  Don’t let age fool you!  These are MARINES and age doesn’t mean anything when you have over 234 years of Marine tradition coursing through your veins.   Our two seasoned Marines at the age of 67 and 70 would give any 50+ year old a run for their money!

 

The camaraderie and ‘Esprit de Corps’ that was present for this PFT Challenge was second to none!  Every competitor should be PROUD of themselves for a job well done.  Each competitor received a certificate for competing in the PFT and we look forward to awarding certificates, along with medals for competitors that score high enough to achieve a 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd class rating, next year.

 

Everyone that competed is already looking forward to starting their training again and getting ready for next year’s 3^rd annual competition.  The time, date, location and details of the next PFT Challenge will be posted when it has all been confirmed.
